it took all the engergy and self-restraint I had to turn the key, shut off the lights, and step out into the too familiar space beside spot 232. not to mention the bitter cold, freshly arrived from the north, abutting the thin, slighly-fogged glass of my driver-side window. all I wanted to do was to put the van back in drive and leave the sight of that prison. i wanted to run away just for the day- i've never done anything like that before. would she have been mad if i called her and simply said, mom, i'm not going to school today. instead i am going to drive into new hampshire and look at the leaves.
i could have used a break today. i can still use one. tomorrow does not hold much promise either as i must be awake before the sun just to lay utterly motionless for 45 minutes in a tube simply so that a doctor- whom i don't know- can tell me if my winter season will be worth anything at all. yikes.
all i wanted to do today was drive away from the brick building and drive for a very long time.

sounds wonderful- not the tube part, but the escape. i promise you lauren watka, we'll escape one day, and do just that. it wont be for the leaves. it may be for the sun, or for the ice, but we'll go. you know who we is. and when we go- it will be wonderful. just as wonderful as you are. so dont you worry. who knows, you may be bound to an "worthless winter" so that it can be spent doing other things......like....cuddling up to that certain- mhm- bye the fire. its our seniro year lauren, theres gonna be bumps, but they be a hell of a good time to get over!
