La dadadada dadadada dada. Yep: Every Day is a Holiday, Esthero- Cassie's little bum-shaking dance move at TOP 40 in her wicked cute dress... oh wow i just love cassina brown
For me, music is the strongest trigger for memories; even more so than scents.
Lately, as I've been listening to my library play randomly while I attempt to read dense scientific papers and make sense of them, a song will come on and I almost have to stop what I'm doing because I'm so overwhelmed with emotion and remembrance.

Yellow and Rose, James Taylor = Utah living room specifically but the feeling of home in general
We Looked Like Giants, Death Cab for Cutie= Walking with Christina at the corner of Leighton and Groton Street when she told me a story about Bagby
Eponymous, REM (any song from the album and most REM in general)= Dad
What a Wonderful World, Louis Armstrong= Mom
360 degrees of You or Passenger Seat, SheDaisy= Driving in the Hyundai with Featherhead to Sciac's and bouncing to the beat
Annie Waits, Ben Folds= Driving home from Nashua with infinity and laughing so hard it hurt... honestly
Poor Little Rich Boy, Regina Spektor= Sitting on the toilet (it was closed) with Chris's laptop in my lap with lovely at the mirror doing something and listening for the first time because she told me I had to hear the song
Seasons of Love= Those three nights in May: Lou's Last Stand
Death of an Interior Decorator, Death Cab for Cutie= Sitting at my desk on a rainy day at UMD, watching the puddles grow
More Than a Feeling, Boston= Doing dishes at the sink in MA, Dad had just turned on some after-dinner music, and I turned around to see him blithely groovin' to the tune
Sunrise, Sunset, Bright Eyes= John
Don't Cha, Pussycat Dolls= On my 18th birthday, Feath, Megan and I at Taco Bell before the movie
Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy, Big & Rich= In the new gym, chaperoning the Freshman dance as a senior, dancing and singing along beside Paige

Scars, Papa Roach= Driving in the Hyundai, Heather at my side, through the intersection downtown and across the Rail Trail on a random afternoon

and of course,
Clarity, John Mayer= WE'RE GOING TO SCHOOL!! wearing sweaters as autumn rustled in.

So many fond memories. I am so lucky to love the nostalgia I feel. even the not so good parts.
