You know what I did tonight?

Some people would say "nothing" if they had passed an evening as I did.

But that is not a true statement as I did do something.

I realized that I had the hours of dusk and beyond to myself with nothing scheduled or in need of my immediate attention. So, I walked to the art museum across the green and admired the many lines and shades created by the hand of Rembrandt, continued to browse European painters, and finished my artistic tour in the works of American minds. By the time I strolled out of the museum, the sun had bid goodnight and left an evening that hinted towards the eminent change in season, bringing with it a temperature that summoned a craving for chai tea. I traveled to the library cafe where I knew I could satisfy my taste buds and succeeded to buy my tea. I find it silly how terribly hot coffee and tea is served because you always have to wait ten minutes or more for it to cool down to a drinkable temperature- during which time you inevitably take a sip, hoping it has miraculously cooled in record time, and at least partially scald a few taste buds. Walking into the cool evening air again, I simply felt no desire to reenter a man-made atmosphere so I started on a tour a pied of the campus. The stars then caught my eye but to my dismay, there were too many street lights to see them very well. So, I began walking towards the golf course knowing that, there, I should be away from any significant light pollution. During this time, my undrinkable beverage at least proved useful to provide heat to my chilly hands. I didn't arrive at the golf course after all because I decided it was a little too dark on the path there but I did succeed in seeing quite a few stars on my journey halfway there and back. Eventually, I gave into social normality and ventured back to my dorm room.

But all in all, it was a wonderfully fulfilling few hours. I tell you, it doesn't take much. :)
